Asin Thottumkal, widely known as just Asin, was born on 26 October 1985. She studied at St. Teresa’s College where she finished a degree in English Literature. She started her career appearing on TV ads. When she was 15, she made her film debut in the Malayalam feature Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka. Her breakthrough was in the Telugu movie Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi.

For this she won the Telugu Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She was also praised for her performance in M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi. For this she got a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil. She won the Tamil Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in Ghajini. She then made her Bollywood debut in 2008’s Ghajini. This also got her a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress.

Asin began her career in the South Indian film industry, but is now also a staple in Bollywood cinema. Already in her early 30s, she has established a prolific career in India making her one of the most well-known in the country. With her prominence, she becomes the subject of many rumors. One of these rumors is that she has undergone plastic surgery to enhance her physical features. Allegedly, the actress has had a cosmetic enhancement on her lips. This was reported after some people noticed how her lips looked different while attending an event.

However, this rumor was immediately denied. A source close to the actress said Asin didn’t have any cosmetic procedures on her lips. She remains a natural beauty up to now and is not thinking of undergoing cosmetic enhancements. The source said: “She has been working out and has lost weight and this reflects on her face.” It was also added that the actress didn’t feel good at the time of the event. Her not feeling well probably reflected to how she looked during said occasion.
