Sonam Kapoor was born on June 9, 1985 in Mumbai, India. Her parents are actor Anil Kapoor and former model Sunita Kapoor. She attended the United World College of South East Asia in Singapore to do her International Baccalaureate. Also in Singapore, she studied theater and arts for two years.
She made her acting debut in 2007’s Saawariya and later gained wider recognition for her roles in Delhi-6, I Hate Luv Storys, Aisha, Thank You, Mausam, Players, and Bombay Talkies where she also did an item number. She was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in 2013’s Raanjhanaa.
