Leelee Sobieski was born on June 10, 1983. After high school, she attended Brown University. Her first audition was for the role of Claudia in Interview with the Vampire. She didn’t get the role, but she went on to star in the TV movie Reunion in 1994. She made her movie debut the following year with A Horse for Danny. She next appeared in the film Jungle 2 Jungle, but it was her role in the 1998 film Deep Impact that made her well-known.
She went on to star in the film A Soldier’s Daughter Never Cries. This earned her a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Leading Young Actress – Feature Film. She also had a role in the romantic comedy Never Been Kissed. Her portrayal of Joan of Arc in the miniseries of the same also got her Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. In 2012, she played one of the leads on the TV series NYC 22. The show was cancelled though.
