Henry Cavill, was born Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill on May 5, 1983 on the Bailiwick of Jersey in the Channel Islands. He studied in a private school called St. Michael’s Preparatory School in Saint Saviour, Jersey and Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, England. He started acting at a young age when he joined his school play of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Hamlet. He also played the role of Sonny in “Grease”. At 17, he was discovered by casting directors who saw his performance at school and asked him to play the role of Albert Mondego in the movie titled The Count of Monte Cristo (2002).

Cavill pursued his acting career after the film and went on to appear in TV shows such as BBC’s “The Inspector Lynley Mysteries” and “Midsummer Murders” (2003). He starred in the TV film Goodbye, Mr. Chips (2002) and has done a lot of movie projects from then on including Red Riding Hood (2006). Today, fans of the comic superhero know him as Superman in Man of Steel (2013). He was the first non-American actor to play Superman.

Matt has always loved film making and is as passionate about it as he is in acting, and has soon ventured into directing. He learned the techniques in Tisch School of the Arts in NYU, where he majored in film directing. He has tried to direct several episodes of the show, which is now on its way 11th season.
