Salman Khan was born on December 27, 1965 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. His father is screenwriter Salim Khan. His professional acting carer began when he appeared in 1988’s Biwi Ho To Aisi. He immediately gained mainstream recognition when he starred in his first lead role in the 1989 romantic drama film Maine Pyar Kiya.

He has since starred in other successful movies, including Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Karan Arjun, Judwaa, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, Biwi No.1, and Hum Saath Saath Hain. He went on to achieve critical acclaim for his performance in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
