Kelly Ann Hu was born on February 13, 1968 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Before pursuing an acting career, she joined in beauty pageants, becoming Miss Teen USA 1985 and Miss Hawaii USA 1993. She made her TV debut in Growing Pains and made her first film appearance in 1989’s Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.
She rose to fame when she played the female lead in 2002’s The Scorpion King. This was followed by 2003’s Cradle 2 the Grave. She then achieved wider stardom when she starred as Yuriko Oyama/Lady Deathstrike in 2003’s X2.
