Has Koena Mitra had Plastic Surgery?
30-year-old Koena Mitra became known in Bollywood for her sensual item numbers and a series of film roles. She came to mainstream attention for her portrayal of Lara in 2004’s Musafir. While she was still hot on the radar for being one of the young stars to watch out for, Mitra took the plastic surgery route that later proved to be a horrible decision. She had a nose job that didn’t go well, leaving her face disfigured that it was hard for her to smile, bringing significant changes to both her personal and professional life.
In an interview for Times of India, she said: “After the surgery my bones started swelling up. Even the doctors gave up and said that only medicine and prayers will work.” Her drastic transformation didn’t stop her from wanting to show everyone how tough she was in dealing with her botched surgery, stepping out in the open. Although she began coming to terms with her new look, people were not so accepting. She said: “I didn’t hide anything. But people spoke and wrote the worst kind of about me.” The actress took a break from Bollywood and went to LA where she studied film editing.
