She started gaining recognition on television, first starring as the title character in the sitcom Gidget during the ’60s. Following this, she starred as Nora Walker on the drama series Brothers & Sisters. Recently, she had a supporting role on the Netflix miniseries Maniac. She also portrayed Aunt May Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
