Vidya Balan was born on 1 January 1979. From an early age she was already keen to become an actress. Her first acting gig came when she was in her teens on the sitcom Hum Paanch. Despite this she still finished her degree from the University of Mumbai. During her college years, she attempted to begin a film career, but failed. Instead, she appeared on television ads and music videos.
By 2003 she made her movie debut in the independent Bengali drama Bhalo. Two years later she starred in her first Hindi movie Parineeta. Her lead role in the box office hit Lage Raho Munna Bhai earned her greater fame. In the late 2000s, she was praised for her performances in Paa and Ishqiya. In the 2010s, she starred in the feature films The Dirty Picture, No One Killed Jessica and Kahaani. Her performance in Paa had won her her first Filmfare for Best Actress. Her roles in The Dirty Picture and Kahaani had also won her the same award.
Has Vidya Balan had Plastic Surgery?
The acclaimed Indian actress is two years shy of 40. As she ages in Bollywood, the calls of plastic surgery becomes louder. Despite the pressures among women in the industry to look incredibly attractive, Balan resists to go under the knife. This pressure becomes stronger as aging comes into picture. During this crucial period, signs of aging start to show and the opportunities to star in movies become less. Even before, the actress was already criticized by body shamers for a lot of things involving her physical appearance – from her fashion style to her flabs, but these didn’t push her to undergo cosmetic procedures.
She remained a natural beauty and relied on her great talents to achieve what she has achieved now. Somehow, she did not conform to what’s standard – that is being thin, and kind of created her own genre. She has since established herself as a successful actress without the physical changes that the acting industry frequently requires actors and actresses to undergo. Even now that she’s nearing her 40s, the actress insists on looking natural.
