Emmanuelle Grey “Emmy” Rossum was born on September 12, 1986 in New York City. Her professional acting career started in 2000 with her feature film debut in Songcatcher. Three years later, she gained notice for her role in Mystic River and enjoyed mainstream recognition as Laura Chapman in The Day After Tomorrow.
She then achieved worldwide fame for her portrayal of Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. She has since starred in other well-known movies, including 2006’s Poseidon and 2009’s Dragonball: Evolution.
Has Emmy Rossum had Plastic Surgery?
Rossum has never had plastic surgery. So far, she hasn’t faced any persistent plastic surgery rumors, as clearly, she doesn’t show any evidence of cosmetic procedures. The 27-year-old actress has also been vocal about her thoughts on plastic surgery, clearly saying that she’s against it. When news of Heidi Montag’s ten plastic surgery procedures in one day broke, the actress wasn’t impressed.
She believes that such news shouldn’t be plastered on the cover of a prominent and widely-circulated magazine as it gives women the wrong notion about plastic surgery. She thinks that by doing so, young women get the impression that plastic surgery is not so dangerous, making them consider going under the knife themselves just because they think there’s something wrong with them even when there’s none.
