She first gained recognition in 1984 when she won the Miss India title, after which she began an acting career, making her debut in 1986’s Sultanat. She later rose to mainstream fame for her role in the 1988 tragic romance film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
She has since starred in other successful movies such as Darr, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Yes Boss, Ishq, Jhankaar Beats, My Brother Nikhil, I Am and Gulaab Gang, among others. She has been nominated for seven Filmfare Awards, winning twice, one for Best Debut and one for Best Actress for her role in Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke.
Has Juhi Chawla had Plastic Surgery?
Considered as one of the best actresses in Bollywood, the veteran performer has been in the acting industry long enough that she’s had her fair share of rumors, including claims of plastic surgery. Beginning her show business journey in the 1980s, fans and critics alike noticed a transformation on Chawla’s face as her time on the entertainment industry progressed. This transformation was allegedly caused by her changed nose, which was reportedly a result of cosmetic surgery.
However, these rumors seem to be in conflict with her statement in an interview back in 2013, in which she shared she almost had gone under the knife when she was a teenager. She said: “When I was a teenager, I hated my nose. So I went to a cosmetic surgeon and he said he’ll have to break this and that. I got scared. The whole procedure frightened me and that I would not look the same. So I never went through with it or went back.” She even has an advice to those who are thinking of going under the knife, saying: “As a person if you ask me, you could change yourself completely. But there should be a balance. You could lose your personality. Don’t lose yourself.”
