Born Kate Rooney Mara on February 27, 1983 in Bedford, New York, she started acting when she was nine after being cast in a school musical. Since then, she has performed in community theater and school productions. Though she did not win a role in her first audition, she knew from then on that she wanted to act professionally.
In 1997, she made her television debut in Law & Order. Her first recurring role was as Vanessa Bartholomew in Nip/Tuck in 2003. She has since appeared recurrently in such television shows as Jack & Bobby, 24, Entourage and American Horror Story: Murder House, the last of which she played Hayden McClaine. She rose to further recognition for playing Zoe Barnes in House of Cards. She recently landed the role of Sue Storm for the 2015 reboot of Fantastic Four.
Has Kate Mara had Plastic Surgery?
32-year-old Kate Mara is as fabulous as her sister Rooney Mara. She may not be as notorious as her sister for playing Lisbeth Salander in 2011’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but Kate has her own moments. Fans best know her for her roles in Ammerican Horror Story and House of Cards, and recently, for her inclusion in the main line-up of Fantastic Four. Surely, great things await the actress. As international audiences get to be more familiar of her, she also becomes more susceptible to talks of vanity, which leads to talks of plastic surgery.
From her career beginnings in the late 1990s, it is clear that Mara has also experienced a physical evolution. Some changes can be attributed with her new style in both clothing and make-up, as well as minor cosmetic enhancements, but it seems that Kate Mara doesn’t show any signs of an invasive procedure. Just like her sister, she is a natural beauty who chooses to maintain her pretty face with probably only minor treatments like chemical peels and laser treatments, which many young actresses do nowadays to make their skin appear more glowing.
