In an interview, Dern made her plans clear, saying: “I don’t want to mess with my face.” She definitely wants to prove her stand as she appears to have wrinkles and lines on her face, just the way a woman in her late 40s should have. It also seems that Dern is not bothered by them.

The actress also mentioned of how she’s trying to become fluent in French so she can continue acting in France, where it’s known that women over the age of 45 can still flourish as actors, in contrast with Hollywood’s cruel treatment of women in their 40s, creating the pressures of relying to plastic surgery. She stated: “So, I’m becoming fluent in French so I can go to France and make French films when I am 60.” This way, she could avoid facelift and still stay in the film industry.
